BETHANY, W.Va. --- The second seeded Moravian College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over third seed Swarthmore College in the semifinals before falling to top seed and host Bethany (W.Va.) College, 3-0, in the championship match of the 2012 ECAC Division III South Championships Saturday.

In the semifinals versus the Garnet, the Greyhounds, who finish the season with a school record 29 wins and a 29-9 overall record, won by set scores of 25-22, 25-27, 25-21 and 25-19. Leading the way for Moravian was sophomore outside hitter Taylor Jennings, who put up a game-high 19 kills. Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite added 17 kills, 12 digs, four blocks and four service aces. Junior setter Kelly Brown made 42 assists to go with her 20 digs and two aces while senior libero Jesse Krasley had 20 digs and 13 assists. Krasley also played in her 500th career set with Moravian, which is the current record for career sets played. She finished her career with 505 sets played.

Freshman outside hitter Lauren Hostetler finished with 11 kills and eight digs while classmate middle blocker Victoria Bobyak had 11 kills. Junior middle blocker Brittany O'Hara had six blocks and four kills while senior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey tallied up ten digs.

Swarthmore was led by senior outside hitter Kathryn Montemurro, who had 15 kills and nine digs. Senior setter Allison Coleman finished with 33 assists while junior outside hitter Danielle Sullivan put up 20 digs and two aces.

With the victory, the Greyhounds moved on to play Bethany.  The Bison earned the 3-0 sweep by scores of 25-16, 26-24 and 25-18 as Bethany won its third straight ECAC Division III South Championship.

Savite led Moravian with ten kills, nine digs and two blocks in her final career match while sophomore outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo had seven kills and three digs.  Brown contributed 23 assists to finish the season with 1,313 assists, second in a single season in Moravian history, and Brown added 11 digs and a pair of kills.

Krasley had a team high 19 digs to complete her career with a school record 2,502 digs while Hostetler added five kills and ten digs for the Greyhounds.  Bobyak had four kills and a pair of blocks in the match.

Bethany was led by senior setter Jessica Zavatchen, who was named the tournament Most Outstanding Player after 31 assists, nine digs and three blocks in the championship match.  Senior right side hitter Lauren Goodwill had 12 kills, three digs and two blocks for the Bison while sophomore outside hitter Jordan Fenner added ten kills and six digs.
