Volleyball Falls Short in Landmark Semifinals to Catholic

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Moravian College volleyball team fell to The Catholic University of America, 3-2, Saturday afternoon in the Landmark Conference Semifinals. The Greyhounds fell by set scores of 25-14, 21-25, 25-18, 21-25 and 15-13.

Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite led the way for Moravian with 19 kills, 13 digs, three service aces and three blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Jennings put up 13 kills and two blocks while freshman middle blocker Victoria Bobyak had 12 kills and a team-best four blocks.

Junior setter Kelly Brown added 51 assists, eight digs and four kills while senior libero Jesse Krasley tallied 19 digs and four assists. Freshman outside hitter Lauren Hostetler added eight kills and 12 digs while junior middle blocker Brittany O'Hara totaled five kills and three blocks.

The Cardinals were led by senior outside hitter Claudia Jean, who had a game-high 24 kills to go with her 13 digs. Freshman middle hitter Audrey Bizak had eight blocks and five kills while junior right-side hitter Bridget Kulesh totaled seven blocks and 13 kills. Sophomore setter Mariana Cruz tallied 51 assists and 11 digs while senior middle hitter Kelly Crimmins had five blocks and nine kills.

The Greyhounds have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament or the ECAC Tournament. Both tournaments will be selected on Monday, November 5th. You can watch the NCAA selection show by clicking here.
