SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Junior pitcher/designated hitter Evan Kulig tossed a complete game on the mound with four strikeouts and at the plate, he tied the school record with three doubles, all of which drove in runs, as the Moravian College baseball team rallied for a 5-3 win at Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action Sunday to win the series.

The Greyhounds are now 13-11 overall and 7-5 in Landmark Conference play after taking two of three games from the River Hawks.

Kulig's three RBI doubles were half of the Hounds' six hits in the game as junior center fielder Austin Markowski went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and his team-leading fifth home run of the season while sophomore second baseman Ian Csencsits hit a double and scored twice.

On the mound, Kulig allowed three runs, all in the first inning on five hits and two walks to go with his four strikeouts as he improved to 2-1 on the season with his second straight victory.

Moravian took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when sophomore right fielder Carmine Palummo led off with the contest with a walk and Csencsits was hit by a pitch. After an out, Markowski ripped an RBI single to score Palummo.

The River Hawks scored all three of their runs in the bottom half of the first and had three of their five hits in the game during the inning.

The Blue and Grey answered back in the top of the second when junior catcher Chase Rogers drew a walk and scored on a two-out double by Kulig to pull within a run.

The Hounds knotted the score in the top of the fourth frame when Csencsits walked with one out and scored from first base on another double by Kulig.

Moravian moved in front, 4-3, in the top of the seventh when Markowski connected on a solo homer on the first pitch of the inning. It was the 12th home run of Markowski's career, moving him into a tie for fifth in school history.

The Greyhounds finished off the scoring in the top of the ninth on back-to-back doubles by Csencsits and Kulig.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Monday, April 9 when the squad hosts No. 2 Rowan (N.J.) University in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Gillespie Field.
