Moravian Men's Soccer Falls in Tough Match to Hood College

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer fell to Hood College by a final score of 3-1 on a rainy Wednesday afternoon on the HUB Quad.

The game started out fast for both teams this afternoon, with both squads firing shots multiple shots on net within the first three minutes of play. However, Hood would find the back of the net twice in the ninth and 11th minutes. The Greyhounds nearly cut the lead in half in the 15th minute when sophomore defender Corey Klaskin blasted a shot off of the crossbar. At the end of the first 45 minutes, the score of 2-0 would stand. Moravian tallied eight shots in the half but none of them found their way past the goalie.

The Greyhounds started much stronger in the second half finding shots early in the half from junior forward Saul Marcial, freshman forward Connor Wagner and senior defender Matthew Gandy. The Hounds would finally find the back of the net on a shot by senior midfielder Brett Harder. Harder took a free kick for the Greyhounds in the 73rd minute from about 20 yards out, he bent it over the wall of defenders and past the goalkeeper and into the back right corner of the net. Moravian found a little bit of momentum after the goal; however, that was quickly changed when Hood was able to put the ball into the back of the net for their third goal of the game.

In net for the Hounds making his first career start was sophomore goalkeeper Bryan Yaskowski. Yaskowski ended the game with a total of 10 saves bringing his season total up to 15 saves.
