Hounds Earn 3-3 Draw with Drew in Final Match of Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team fought hard for 110 minutes with Landmark Conference opponent Drew University in a match that ended in a 3-3, double-overtime tie Saturday afternoon on the HUB Quad on the final day of the 2015 regular season.

The Hounds started the game quickly with senior forward Brett Harder putting a shot over the top of the net in the third minute. The Greyhounds would continue to pressure the Rangers until freshman defender Rocky Fatuova found the back of the net in the 39th minute for his first collegiate goal. The ball was played in off of a corner kick by freshman midfielder Chris Caso and it found a diving Fatuova's head and then the back of the net. Less than two minutes later the Blue and Grey struck again to grab a 2-0 lead. Freshman forward Koshane Marshall raced down the field to put his first shot on net that was save by the Ranger goalkeeper. Marshall tracked the loose ball and buried it into the back of an open net for his second career goal. The first 45 minutes of play would end with Moravian leading Drew 2-1.

The second 45 minutes of play would start vigorously with sophomore midfielder Connor Phillips heading the ball into the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season. The ball came off the foot of senior forward Andrew Arcell, who dribbled around a few defenders and sent the ball into the box right to Phillips' head. Drew would find two goals in the following 25 minutes of play to tie the game at 3-3. The Greyhounds worked hard to find a fourth goal to win in regulation with great chances from senior midfielder Shane Harder and Fatuova with less than 10 minutes to play but the Rangers goalie was able to make the saves.

The game headed to overtime tied at 3-3, with both teams looking for the game-winner. The Blue and Grey would again start the first overtime period with fast-paced play and were able to find a quality chance from Caso but he was unable to find the back of the net. As the game wound down the Hounds would find another chance from Phillips again in the second overtime period but that was blocked out in front of the net. After the 110 minutes was played the game was over, tied at 3-3.

In net for the Greyhounds was senior goalkeeper Brian Boland, who made 12 saves on the day to bring his season total to 59 saves and his career total to 271, which puts him fifth all time in Moravian history. His 12 saves in one game also gives him a tie for fifth in the record books for most saves in a single game.
