SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought, 1-0 decision at The University of Scranton in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening.

The Hounds had the first opportunity of the match when sophomore defender Corey Klaskin fired in a long shot but is sailed wide of the goal in the third minute of action. The Royals would get on the board three and a half minutes later with what ended up being the only goal of the contest. Scranton put another shot on goal in the 45th minute but Moravian sophomore goalie Bryan Yaskowski was there for the save.

The Greyhounds looked for the equalizer in the second half. Freshman midfielder Ron Jones had a shot go high in the 48th minute before the Blue and Grey thought they had tied the match in the 50th minute when the ball found the back of the net; however, Moravian was ruled offside on the play and the goal was disallowed.

Scranton looked to increase its lead the 54th minute but Yaskowski turned the shot attempt away. Three minutes later, junior midfielder Robert McKinley put a shot on goal for the Hounds that was stopped. Yaskowski came up with saves in the 62nd and 72nd minute to keep Moravian within a goal. Sophomore forward Hunter Ackerson headed a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute but it was knocked away.

Yaskowski made his fourth and final save of the evening in the 84th minute but Moravian was unable to tie the score in the final six minutes of action.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to the pitch on Saturday, October 24 when the squad welcomes the University of Rochester to the HUB Quad for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference contest on Homecoming.
