Carisone Earns Third Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week Award

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore pitcher Amanda Carisone has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for a third time this season for her performance last week.

Carisone helped the No. 18 ranked Greyhounds to a 3-1 mark in non-conference action over the last seven days as Moravian finished the regular season with a 32-4 record. Carisone was 2-0 for the week with 0.44 ERA while allowing two runs, one earned, on nine hits and three walks to go with 11 strikeouts in 16 innings over three outings. Her five strikeouts in a 6-1 win at the College of Staten Island on Saturday gave Carisone 204 for her career, the 10th pitcher in Moravian history to reach the milestone.

"Amanda had another really good week in the circle, and she has been getting stronger as the year has progressed," noted Head Coach John Byrne. "Amanda is in command of her pitches right now, and her steady work will be a benefit as we head into the postseason this week."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, May 6 as the Greyhounds serve as the host of the 2016 Landmark Conference Tournament. The top seeded Hounds will play fourth seed The University of Scranton in the tournament's opening game at 11:00 a.m. at Blue & Grey Field in Bethlehem.
