Greyhounds Climb into Tie for 16th in Latest NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll

Moravian softball tied for 16th in latest NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball team climbed six spots into a tie for 16th in the latest 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll.

Moravian, which is 11-3 on the season after winning nine straight games, returned to the poll last week at 22nd. The Greyhounds were 18th in the preseason poll and 17th in the first regular season poll on February 28, and the Blue and Grey dropped into the receiving votes category after a 3-3 mark in the 2018 NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Arizona to open the season in the first week of March. The Blue and Grey completed the Spring Break trip west with a 6-0 mark in the Tucson Invitational to move back into the poll.

To finish off the Tucson Invitational, Moravian posted a 5-0 victory over the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.), which is tied for 20th in this week's poll, while two of the Greyhounds' three losses at the Leadoff Classic were to No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University and No. 24 the University of St. Thomas (Minn.).

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 24 in a Landmark Conference doubleheader versus Elizabethtown College beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Blue & Grey Field in Bethlehem.
