O'Rourke Selected to D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region 3rd Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College senior guard Katie O'Rourke has been selected to the 2014 D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team.

This is the 13th year that D3hoops.com has selected All-Region teams. Players were nominated for the teams by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. There were 689 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region. The Mid-Atlantic Region had three teams selected.

O'Rourke has already been honored this winter by being named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive season. She paced Moravian in scoring at 13.3 points, and she led the squad with 103 assists to go with 39 steals in a team-high 814 minutes of action. O'Rourke also had a team-high free throw percentage of 81.3 percent after making 113-of-139 attempts.

O'Rourke completed her career with 1,019 points (23rd in the Moravian record book), 561 rebounds (14th all-time), 355 assists (third in school history) and 202 steals (seventh) as the only Greyhound player to hit all four milestones.

"To be recognized in the region with D3hoops is a huge accomplishment for Katie," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She has had a stellar career and is being acknowledged for her efforts. Katie was not only a tremendous player but also a great leader for the team over the past four years."

The Greyhounds finished the 2013-14 season with a 20-8 record, and the squad reached the postseason for the 14th straight year with a spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament. The Hounds also earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, the ninth NCAA Tournament trip in school history, and the first since 2010.
