O'Rourke Voted WBCA Coaches' Honorable Mention All-American

ATLANTA, Ga. --- Senior guard Katie O'Rourke of the Moravian College women's basketball team has been named to the 2014 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division III Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention squad.

The 10-member All-America team that was announced Thursday evening at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Stevens Point, Wisconsin was selected by a vote of the selection committee from a total of 40 players, five from each of the eight geographical regions around the country. The committee is composed of one representative from each region and a chairperson.

O'Rourke was also named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team for the second straight year, honors this winter, and she garnered a spot on the D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team earlier this week. O'Rourke led the Greyhounds in scoring at 13.3 points, and she led the team with 103 assists to go with 39 steals and just 91 turnovers in a team-high 814 minutes of action. She also led the Hounds at the foul line, making 113-of-139 attempts this winter (81.3 percent), and she shot 45.5 percent (116-of-255) from the floor at 36.1 percent (13-of-36) behind the three-point line.

O'Rourke finished her career with 1,019 points (23rd in the Moravian record book), 561 rebounds (14th all-time), 355 assists (third in school history) and 202 steals (seventh) as the only Greyhound player to hit all four milestones.

"After a tremendous career, this award for Katie is the reward for all of her time and commitment to her game on the floor and her contribution to her team," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Her accomplishments are staggering - no one in the history of Moravian basketball has done what she has done. I am proud and honored to have coached Katie. As good as a basketball player on the court, Katie is an even better person off the court. Every member of the Moravian basketball community is thrilled that she is receiving this honor."

The Greyhounds completed the 2013-14 season with a 20-8 record. Moravian reached the postseason for the 14th straight year with a spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament, and the Greyhounds also earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, the ninth NCAA berth in school history.
