Schall's 2nd Straight Hat-Trick Moves Hounds Past Centenary

Bethlehem, Pa.---The Moravian College women's soccer team won their second straight match by a 5-1 score with a victory over the Centenary College Cyclones in New Jersey Saturday afternoon. Senior forward Kirsten Schall would out do herself again leading the team with three goals, earning her second career hat-trick in as many games.

After a shot by Centenary, the ball would find its way to Schall who used a quick move to beat the defender and place the ball in the lower left corner giving the Greyhounds the lead 1-0 in the 12th minute. The Cyclones would score from 25 yards out tying the game going into halftime.

Schall took advantage of free kick in the 65th minute placing the ball in for her second goal of the match. Two minutes later, Schall earned her second hat-trick of the season and her 26th goal of her career solidifying fifth in career goals and tied for fifth in career points with 69 at Moravian.

In the 69th minute, junior midfielder Taylor Blake would take a shot that was saved, but there for the rebound shot was sophomore midfielder Valentina Margiottiello, this time finding the back of the net and extending the Hounds lead 4-1.

Sophomore forward Melissa Walko slotted a perfect pass about 25 yards out for freshman forward Emily Crowley to score the first goal of her collegiate career in the 79th minute making the final score 5-1 in favor of Moravian.

Junior goalkeeper Jacqueline Zalis made five saves for the Greyhounds for her third win of the season.

The Greyhounds return home on September 18 against Bryn Mawr College for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff on the HUB Quad.
