Women's Soccer Opens 2016 Campaign on New Makuvek Field on September 1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team will kick off the 2016 schedule with a two-match home stand versus Arcadia University and Penn State Harrisburg on the new turf John Makuvek Field, which is replacing the old grass HUB Quad this summer.

The Greyhounds' match versus Arcadia will be the first game to be held on the new field and will be the first played under the lights with a game time of 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1. The Greyhounds will then face off against PSU Harrisburg on Wednesday, September 7 at 5:00 p.m.

The Hounds head out on a three-match road trip including a stop at Drew University to play in the Drew Fall Festival with matches against Stockton University on Saturday, September 10 and Rutgers-Camden on Sunday, September 11. Moravian also has non-conference matches at Rowan University on September 14, versus the College of Mount Saint Vincent on September 17 at 7:00 p.m. on Makuvek Field and at Albright College on September 20.

The Blue and Grey will kick off their 2016 Landmark Conference campaign on Saturday, September 24 with a match against the University of Scranton at 4:00 p.m. The next home match for the Greyhounds will be a non-conference contest with King's (Pa.) College at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5. The team will head out for a Landmark Conference match with Goucher College on Saturday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. before returning home for a short home stand versus both Elizabethtown College and the Catholic University of America. Those contests will be played on Wednesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 15 at 4:30 p.m.

Moravian heads to Juniata College for its final road Landmark Conference match on October 22 before heading to Allentown on October 25 for a non-conference night match at rival Muhlenberg College.

The Greyhounds will close out the season at home with a Landmark Conference contest versus Susquehanna University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29.

The Greyhounds will look to repeat their success from last season and hope to qualify for the Landmark Conference Tournament with the semifinals starting on Wednesday, November 2 and the finals on Saturday, November 5 at the highest remaining seed.
