Women's Volleyball Suffers First Setback of 2016 at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to DeSales University, 25-23, 25-18, 25-17, in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

Freshman outside hitter Brooke Kusmider led the Greyhounds, who are now 4-1 this fall, with nine kills to go with seven digs. Senior middle blocker Taylor Kornmann added eight kills and three blocks for Moravian while junior outside hitter Mary Zacher contributed four kills and five digs.

Freshman setter Victoria Kauffman had 22 assists and five digs in the contest while junior libero Jean Markovic added 21 digs and a pair service aces. Freshman defensive specialist Alexis Szaro contributed six digs while senior right side hitter Jaclyn Smith and sophomore middle blocker Erin Tiger each had a pair of kills.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, September 10 in a non-conference tri-match at Messiah College with Gettysburg College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
