Greyhounds Fall to Muhlenberg in Non-Conference Action

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball squad fell to rival Muhlenberg College in straight sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-23, in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Wednesday evening.

The Greyhounds, now 4-4 on the year, had a lead in each set with advantages of 3-2 in the opening set, 11-4 in the second set and 5-1 in the third set. Junior outside hitter Mary Zacher had 12 kills to go with 11 digs to lead Moravian. Senior middle blocker Taylor Kornmann added nine kills and three blocks while freshman outside hitter Brooke Kusmider had four kills and three digs.

Sophomore middle blocker Erin Tiger contributed three kills while senior right side hitter Jaclyn Smith added three kills. Freshman setter Victoria Kauffman had 28 assists, nine digs and three blocks. Junior libero Jean Markovic led the Blue and Grey with 21 digs while freshman defensive specialist Alexis Szaro contributed seven digs.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17 with four matches in the Neumann University Knights Invitational.
