BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's basketball team dropped a 78-62 decision to rival Muhlenberg College in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Saturday to end the first semester of action.
How It Happened
- The Mules opened a 6-0 lead before senior forward Michael Leonardo hit two free throws to get the Greyhounds on the board. Muhlenberg stretched its edge out to 11 points before the Blue & Grey closed within six points at 19-13 on a three-pointer from Leonardo with 12:34 left in the first half
- The Mules pushed the edge up to 15 points at 32-17 with just under six minutes to play. The Hounds went on a 18-3 run to get within three points at 38-35 on a free throw from freshman forward Jametric Harris for the final points of the first half
- Muhlenberg led the entire second half with Moravian getting no closer than five points
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had three players in double figures with Harris, graduate student Alex Dietz and junior guard Porter Kelly all netting 11 points. Harris added six rebounds and a pair of blocked shots while Dietz had three rebounds and three steals and Kelly contributed four boards and three assists
- Sophomore guard George Cutler posted eight points and two assists while Leonardo finished with nine rebounds and seven points
- Junior guard Chad Kratzer recorded five points and two boards while guard Colin Farrell registered four points and two assists
- Junior forward Liam Cummiskey had three points and three rebounds while sophomore guard Taylor Perlmutter contributed two points, three rebounds and three assists
- The Hounds shot 21-of-68 from the field, 11-for-43 beyond the three-point line and 9-for-12 at the foul line
