BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior guard Chad Kratzer from Moravian University's men's basketball squad has been selected as the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for his performance last week.
Kratzer was named the MVP of the 44th Steel Club Classic after averaging 25.0 points per game to lead the Hounds to their first title in the tournament since 2014. Kratzer shot 17-of-36 from the floor including 13-of-27 on three-pointers, and he added three rebounds, eight assists and five steals in the two games. Kratzer had a career-high 27 points to go with two rebounds, four assists and a steal in a 99-63 victory over FDU-Florham to be named this week's Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, and he added 23 points, one rebound, four assists and four steals in a 104-75 win versus Dickinson College in the championship game as the Hounds tied the school record with 22 made three-pointers against the Red Devils.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return on Saturday, January 4 when the squad heads to Messiah University for a non-conference game tipping off at 2:00 p.m.
