BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing to look back at its 2024-25 athletic campaign. The next contest in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 3 highlight – the women's tennis team defeating The Catholic University of America, 4-2, in the Landmark Conference Tournament Semifinals.
On Friday, May 2, the top seeded Greyhounds played fourth seed Catholic indoors at Winning Touch Tennis. The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead by winning the first two doubles matches to finish. Junior Izzy Szmodis, freshman Sydney Shifman and sophomore Leah Zolotareva all won their singles contests to give the Hounds a 3-1 lead. After Catholic captured the fifth singles contest, sophomore Ali Bender won in straight sets at sixth singles to give Moravian the win as the squad advanced to its sixth straight Landmark Conference Championship match.
