BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior Tara Smurla from Moravian University's women's cross country squad has been honored the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.
Smurla finished in second place out of 197 runners with a time of 18:22.7 on the 5,000-meter course. This was a cross country 5K PR. Smurla's finish helped Moravian University finish second as a team.
The women's cross country team will return to action on Saturday, September 14th at the Stockton University Osprey Invitational, 10:30 a.m.
The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
