BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is finishing its look back at its 2023-24 athletic campaign. The final entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 1 highlight – senior Lexi Groff earning First Team All-America honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Groff competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships for the first time in her career this spring at the meet in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on May 24. Groff was third of the 22 competitors in the order to jump, and she cleared the opening height of 1.58 meters (5-2.25) on her first attempt of the meet.
Groff needed all three of her attempts to get over the next bar at 1.63 meters (5-4.25). She only needed one jump at the next height of 1.68 meters (5-6) to tie her school and Landmark Conference record height set earlier in the season. Groff just missed clearing the next height at 1.71 meters (5-7.25) to finish in a tie for fifth and earn First Team All-America accolades for a top eight finish.
