BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior attack Jackie Salvatore from the Moravian University's women's lacrosse team has been honored as the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.
Salvatore led Moravian to a 2-0 record this week with 21 points on three goals and 18 assists to go with 19 draw controls and five ground balls. Salvatore began the week with ten points on two goals and eight assists to go with six draw controls and three ground balls in a 15-3 victory over Misericordia University. The ten points pushed Salvatore over 300 career points as she became the second player in program history and fifth in Landmark Conference history to reach the milestone. She then had a goal, a school record 10 assists, a career-best 13 draw controls and two ground balls in a 26-2 victory over Wilkes University to start the season. During the contest, Salvatore broke the Moravian and Landmark Conference records in career assists, now with 163. The match saw the Greyhounds set program records for goals with 26, assists with 19 and draw controls with 28, and Moravian set new Landmark Conference records with 19 assists and 45 points while tying the mark for goals with 26 in conference only action. Salvatore tied the conference only mark with her 10 assists.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 26 in a non-conference match versus Arcadia University beginning at 4:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
