BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2023-24 athletic campaign. The next entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 2 highlight – sophomore catcher Marcie Silberman being named as a Second Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Silberman helped the Greyhounds to a 31-10 record this season as Moravian reached the postseason for the 29th straight spring and the second consecutive season under the guidance of second-year Head Coach Josh Baltz with the Hounds earning the top seed in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament after a 13-3 mark in the conference's regular season. Moravian would capture its 11th Landmark Conference title and make its 20th trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament this year with the Hounds hosting an NCAA Regional for the first time at Blue & Grey Field.

Silberman's honor gives the Greyhound softball program a total of nine student-athletes that have received 13 NFCA All-American honors. She is the third Hounds' catcher to be selected as an All-American.

This spring, Silberman was selected to the Landmark Conference All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive spring. Silberman is also a two-time NFCA All-Region V Honoree, making the First Team in 2024 and the Second Team in 2023.

Silberman had a .348 batting average this spring to go with 48 hits, 31 runs, 15 doubles, a school and Landmark Conference record 16 home runs, 52 RBIs and a school record 111 total bases. She also recorded two walks, seven hit-by-pitch, a .399 on-base percentage and an .810 slugging percentage. Silberman posted 187 putouts and 18 assists in 207 chances in the field, and she had one pickoff and threw out 9-of-24 stolen base attempts.

The number one story in the countdown will be released on Wednesday, July 31. On Monday, July 29, we'll post our Best of the Rest recap with the other stories that received votes for the Top 10 but didn't make the countdown.
