Ten Hounds Honored on 2025 Landmark Conference Spring All-Sportsmanship Team

Head Shots for Landmark All-Sportsmanship

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has named 94 student-athletes including ten from Moravian University to the 2025 Spring All-Sportsmanship Team. The All-Sportsmanship Team includes one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team.

The All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. The student-athletes selected demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat. They are ambassadors for the team, both on and off the field, and galvanize their teammates toward their goals. These student-athletes exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, spectators, and the greater campus community.

The All-Sportsmanship Team was created by the Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in 2013 as a way to highlight student-athletes who are making an impact. The Landmark previously awarded a Sportsmanship Cup before the All-Sportsmanship Team replaced the Cup for the 2013-14 academic year.

Baseball

Senior pitcher Matt Snyder earned his first selection to All-Sportsmanship Team. Snyder led the Greyhounds' pitching staff this season with a 6-5 record to go with a save, 27 strikeouts and a 4.21 earned run average in 47 innings of work. Snyder began the year as Moravian's closer before moving into the starting rotation due to injuries. Snyder, who missed his junior campaign due to an injury, has an 8-8 career mark with two saves, a 4.44 ERA and 66 strikeouts over 101.1 innings in 40 appearances.

"Matt Snyder exemplifies what it means to be a true teammate," stated Head Coach Douglas Coe. "Despite the setback of missing the 2024 season due to injury, he stayed committed – supporting his teammates, working tirelessly through rehab, and returning as one of our most impactful pitchers. His resilience, leadership, and selflessness set the standard for sportsmanship on and off the field."

Softball

Sophomore infielder Emma Grace Pachkowski is part of the No. 18 Greyhounds' squad that is 39-7 overall and set to host an NCAA Division III Super Regional at Blue & Grey Field on May 22-23. Moravian won its 12th Landmark Conference title and seventh NCAA Regional championship this season. Pachkowski has is 2-for-2 in her career with six runs and an RBI, and she has also contributed three putouts and three assists in the field while seeing action in 18 contests in two seasons.

"Emma Grace is the kind of player every coach wants to have on their team," commented Head Coach Josh Baltz." She comes to practice each day with a smile on her face, ready to work hard and lift up everyone around her. Her positive energy is contagious, and she always puts her teammates first. She leads with effort, encouragement, and constant support. Emma Grace makes the people around her better, and we are truly lucky to have her on this team."

Track & Field

Sophomore distance runner Gavin Hefferan was part of the Greyhound squad that finished as the runner-up in the 2025 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships at Susquehanna University. Hefferan earned Landmark All-Conference Second Team honors this year with a second place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and he garnered a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Honorable Mention team with a third place showing in the 5,000-meter run.

"Gavin was on the cusp of a big breakthrough in the steeplechase in May but had a few setbacks both at Landmarks and AARTFCs, in the case of Landmarks, his focus was on abiding by the rules, and at our final meet, he came down with an untimely illness," noted Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann. "In both circumstances, it'd be extremely frustrating for any athlete, but he took both moments in stride and handled himself with class. Beyond this, he's routinely a huge supporter of his teammates and competitors, always showing respect towards others and is a great representative of Moravian and our program."

Senior distance runner Ally Meeks helped the Hounds to the 2025 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship. She placed fifth in the 10,000-meter run at the meet to score four points for the Greyhounds, and Meeks also finished 17th in the 5,000-meter run.

"We could have nominated Ally for this distinction every season she's been at Moravian," Baumann commented. "She coordinated road trips to Indiana in the fall and Williams College last week to support her teammates at their championship meets. She organizes the ribbon making for our women's team at every meet. Her focus is always on the team and what's best for others over herself. She is always contentious, almost to a fault, about representing herself and Moravian with class and dignity. She was the heartbeat of our team for four years here and the team-first mentality will be greatly missed."

Tennis

Senior Wyatt Marshall battled injuries this season while helping Moravian to a 13-8 record and a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament Semifinals for the third straight year. Marshall moved to the top spot in the line-up this year and was 5-9 in singles and 6-8 in doubles. Marshall, who made the 2022 Landmark All-Conference Second Team in doubles and the 2024 Honorable Mention squad in singles, finished his career with a 39-28 singles mark and a 32-24 doubles slate.

"Wyatt sets the standard every day with his attitude, effort, and leadership," noted Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "His selfless commitment to the team goes far beyond the tennis court; he's helped shape the identity of this program and inspires our young squad."

Sophomore Leah Zolotareva was honored as the 2025 Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year while earning spots Landmark All-Conference First Team in both singles and doubles this season as she helped the Hounds to a 17-4 record and a berth in the Landmark Conference title match for the fifth straight season. Zolotareva was 16-5 at first singles while combining with junior Izzy Szmodis for a 17-4 slate at first doubles. Zolotareva, who made the Landmark All-Conference First Team in singles and Honorable Mention squad in doubles in 2024, is 27-12 in singles play and 30-8 in doubles action through two seasons.

"Leah leads with integrity and heart; her work ethic, discipline, and constant encouragement elevate everyone around her," Freitas explained. "She's not only a key player on the court but a cornerstone of our program's culture and growth."

Lacrosse

Senior defender Austin Hittle saw action in 16 matches this spring as Moravian went 9-7 and reached the Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament for the second consecutive year. Hittle had 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in 2025, and he completed his career with two goals, an assist, 85 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers.

"Austin is a true team player and great teammate," stated Head Coach Dave Carty. "He did anything he was asked and was a great role model for the younger players. He was one of the most reliable players and team leaders we had this year."

Senior defender Isabella Ziccardi helped the women's lacrosse program to a 10-8 mark and the program's seventh straight Landmark Conference Tournament appearance. Ziccardi netted the first goal of her career this spring, and she finished her career with 34 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.

Golf

Senior TJ Bohl  earned his third career Landmark All-Conference Team accolade postseason honor after finishing in a tie for 13th at 156 in the 2025 Landmark Conference Championships to make the All-Conference Honorable Mention squad. Bohl was the 2022 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and made the All-Conference First Team that season as the tournament's runner-up, and he was on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in 2023 after placing eighth. Bohl finished his career with a 78.07 average of 56.5 rounds, which ranks fifth in program history.

Sophomore Heidi Wegscheider finished 11th of the 44 golfers at the 2025 Landmark Conference Championships with a 36-hole score of 172 to garner Landmark All-Conference Second Team accolades. Wegscheider was on the Honorable Mention squad in 2024, and she has a career scoring average of 89.97 through 33.5 rounds in the first two years of the program.
