BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University golf teams have named seniors Sam Bingaman and Jason Koch as men's captains and sophomores Ella Oswald and Heidi Wegscheider as women's captains for the 2024-25 season.
"Jason, Sam, Heidi, and Ella have been selected as the 2024-2025 golf co-captains. They exemplify leadership, integrity, and a team-first mentality," stated Director of Golf Meredith Mutcher. "They are role models both on and off the course, capable of inspiring their teammates, fostering a positive team culture, and upholding the values of our program. Our decision reflects not only their performance, but their ability to lead through challenges and bring out the best in every member of the team."
Koch earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team last spring with a fifth-place finish in the 36-hole tournament. He averaged 74.94 strokes per round last year over 17 rounds with a season low of 69 to go along with one medalist honor. Koch has a career scoring average of 78.54 over 41 career rounds. Bingaman averaged 83.12 strokes per round last season in his first full year playing for the Hounds.
Oswald and Wegscheider were part of Moravian's inaugural women's team last season with Wegscheider garnering Landmark All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades for a 14th-place finish in the championships.
Both Greyhound squads are set to begin the 2024-25 season at the Elizabethtown College Invitational at the Hershey Country Club East Course on Tuesday, September 10 with tee-off set for 1:00 p.m.
