Anderson & Perlmutter Named to Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior Mikayla Anderson and sophomore Taylor Perlmutter of the Moravian University basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team for the 2024-25 season.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the six small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Moravian University and Muhlenberg College.

Anderson, a senior guard for the Greyhounds, has helped the Moravian women to a 4-13 record including a 2-8 slate in Landmark Conference action as the second half of the conference season began this past weekend. This winter, she has contributed 45 rebounds, 14 points, 20 assists, eight steals and a blocked shot, ranking fourth on the squad in assists, and Anderson has played 270 minutes while seeing action in all 17 games with 11 starts. She has 74 points, 161 rebounds, 66 assists, 48 steals and 26 blocked shots in 87 career contests with 14 starts, and Anderson is maintaining a 3.54 GPA while majoring in health sciences/pre-occupational therapy.

"Mikayla has consistently excelled both on the court and in the classroom," commented Acting Head Coach Kelly Fallara. "She embodies the qualities of a true Student-Athlete, representing herself, her family, and Moravian Women's Basketball with integrity, passion, and maturity. Mikayla has fully embraced her role as both a student and an athlete, showing dedication in both areas. Congratulations to Mikayla for this well-deserved honor—she has truly earned this recognition."

Joining Anderson on the Scholar-Athlete Team are Emily Unger of Muhlenberg, Morgan Sterner of DeSales, Emily Chmiel of East Stroudsburg, Rachel Bilger of Cedar Crest and Shannon Remolde of Kutztown.

Perlmutter, a sophomore guard, has been an important reserve that has also started eight games for the Greyhounds this season, helping Moravian to an 11-6 overall mark and a 6-4 slate in Landmark Conference action just past the halfway point of the conference slate. He is averaging 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this winter, and Perlmutter is third on the squad with 37 assists to go with ten steals and six three-pointers over 286 minutes. In his career, Perlmutter has contributed 168 points, 89 rebounds, 67 assists, 17 three-pointers, 27 steals and four blocked shots in 41 games with eight starts. Perlmutter is majoring in data science while earning a 3.52 GPA.

"We are really proud of Taylor, on and off the court," stated Head Coach Darryl Keckler. "Taylor's academic success is indicative of his hard work and leadership he displays on a daily basis."

Joining Perlmutter on the Scholar-Athlete Team are Drew Greene of Muhlenberg, Devin Anderson of DeSales, Carson Howard of East Stroudsburg and Yahmir Satterfield of Kutztown.

The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the DeSales University Center where the LVSCBO 2025 Team of the Year and the Pete Nevins Player of the Year awards will be announced.
