BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior Ashlee Limbacher from Moravian University's women's swimming squad has been named as the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for his performance last week.
Limbacher set four school records in a 1-0-1 week for the Greyhounds. Limbacher crushed the school record by over a minute and a half to win the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:36.24, and she also set the school mark in the 500-yard freestyle, winning in 5:37.56, in an 83-83 tie with Wilkes University Friday evening. Limbacher placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:08.47 in the meet. Less than 20 hours later, Limbacher began a 92-37 win over King's College with a school record time of 2:07.67 to win the 200-yard freestyle, and she also broke her own school record in the 500-yard freestyle set Friday evening with a winning time of 5:34.66. Limbacher finished the Senior Day meet swimming a leg of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:56.67.
The Greyhounds are slated to return to the pool on Saturday, February 1 when the Blue & Grey travel to Lycoming College for a Landmark Conference meet beginning at 1:00 p.m. to close out the regular season.
