BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano of the Moravian University's women's softball team has been honored as the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.
DeStefano was named the Most Outstanding Performer in the NCAA Division III Bethlehem (Pa.) Regional after going 2-0 with a save, a shutout, nine strikeouts, nine hits, one walk and two runs, one earned, in 13.1 innings of action in the circle to help the No. 18 Greyhounds win the program's seventh NCAA Division III Regional Championship. DeStefano, who earned her second Honey Stinger Athlete of the Week of the spring, added two hits, a run, a double and an RBI at the plate to go with two putouts and four assists in the field.
The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
