Five Greyhounds Named to College Sports Communicators Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University graduate students Josh Mangini and Cole Stanchina, senior Jake Farrell and sophomore Jordan Gagner and Gavin Hefferan have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Track & Field and Cross Country Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student and be ranked in the top 50 in the school's region in a track event or have finished in the top 50 at the NCAA Division III cross country regional for the program.

By making the All-District Team, the quartet is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, July 16. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

Mangini, who finished his MBA in data analytics this spring with 4.00 grade-point average after earning a healthcare management degree and a 3.65 grade-point average as an undergraduate, was tenth in the Metro Region in the 10,000-meter run outdoors at 31:25.86, 26th in the 5,000-meter outdoors in 15:09.54, 21st in the 5,000-meter run indoors at 15:33.18 and 28th in the Metro Region Cross Country Championships in 25:46.4 to garner All-Region honors for the second straight fall. Mangini earned Landmark All-Conference First Team Cross Country honors in 2022 and 2023 and was on the Second Team in 2022. Mangini was a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, an eight-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and four-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Stanchina, who is working towards his MBA with 3.77 grade-point average at Moravian, was second in the Metro Region in the 10,000-meter run outdoors at 30:29.69, eighth in the 5,000-meter outdoors in 14:48.48, third in the 5,000-meter run indoors at 14:55.14, ninth in the 3,000-meter run indoors in 8:43.06, 28th in the mile run indoors at 4:27.35 and seventh in the Metro Region Cross Country Championships in 24:59.4 to earn All-Region honors and help the Greyhounds earn the program's first trip as a team to the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships. Stanchina earned Landmark All-Conference First Team Cross Country honors with a third-place finish in his first year with the program, and he broke the Landmark Conference meet record in the 5,000-meter run indoors to win the conference title. Stanchina was the Landmark Conference Champion outdoors in both the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs, and he earned a total of four Landmark All-Conference accolades. Stanchina was a member of the Landmark Conference Fall and Winter/Spring Academic Honor Rolls.

Farrell, a sociology/criminal justice major with a political science minor and a 3.57 grade-point average, was 13th in the Metro Region in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:45.79. Farrell has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, an eight-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and three-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Gagner, a biology major with a 3.71 grade-point average, was 14th in the Metro Region in the 800-meter run outdoors in 1:54.86, seventh in the 800-meter run indoors in 1:57.51, 39th in the 400-meter dash indoors in 52.31 seconds, third in the distance medley relay indoors in 10:20.64 and 13th in the 4x400-meter relay indoors in 3:31.35. Gagner was the Landmark Conference Champion in the 800-meter run indoors to earn Landmark All-Conference First Team honors. Gagner has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times, a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and a member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Hefferan, a health sciences/pre-physical therapy major with a 3.91 grade-point average, was fourth in the Metro Region in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:25.78, 14th in the 5,000-meter run outdoors at 14:55.66, sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 15:05.18, 28th in the 3,000-meter run indoors at 8:52.55, 35th in the mile run indoors in 4:29.19 and ninth in the Metro Region Cross Country Championships in 25:06.4 to earn All-Region honors. Hefferan was fifth at the Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships to earn Landmark All-Conference First Team accolades, and he was the runner-up in the steeplechase outdoors to garner All-Conference Second Team honors. Hefferan has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times, a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and a member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
