Golf is 3rd After Two Rounds in Empire 8 Championship

The Moravian College golf team is third of eight teams after the first two rounds of the 2011-12 Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament. The Greyhounds have a team score of 611 at the Yahnundasis Golf Club while St. John Fisher College is first at 591. Elmira College sits in second place with a team score of 605 while The University of Scranton is fourth at 614. The eight teams will finish the tournament with two rounds at the Hershey Country Club on April 21st & 22nd.

Greyhound senior Scott Stires and junior Thomas Fenyak, pictured, are currenlty tied for fourth of the 48 golfers in the tournament with a two-day scores of 148. Fenyak had a second day score of two-over par 73 while Stires had a 77 on Sunday. Senior John Dimler is tied for 16th at 155 after an 80 on his second 18 holes in the tournament while senior Sam Stires is tied for 20th at 160 with a second round of 81. Freshman Mark Saeger is 27th after two rounds with a 164 after another round of 82 while junior Aaron Thieme is tied for 38th with 172 after an 85 in the second round.
