LYNCHBURG, Va. --- The Moravian University men's outdoor track & field squad started its 2024 season at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg on Friday and Saturday.
Moravian Top 10 Finishers
- On Friday night, junior Owen Nahf finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:16.49 while junior Nathan Hajel was seventh at 15:18.77 and senior Josh Mangini placed ninth in a time of 15:32.43
- Freshman Javon McKay finished eighth in the 100-meter dash in 11.04 seconds
- Graduate student Christian Jancsarics took eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:22.84 while junior Jake Farrell placed tenth in 10:25.99
- Graduate student Tim King finished sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.31 meters (151-11) while senior Dan McNicholas took eighth at 43.88 meters (143-11)
- In the open 5,000-meter run on Saturday, freshman Michael Schippnick finished fifth in 16:36.04 while freshman Gavin Hefferan was seventh in 16:37.63
- King was also tenth in the discus with a toss of 42.42 meters (139-2)
