King Wins Three Events & Sets School and Landmark Conference Record in Discus to Lead Moravian at DeSales Tri-Meet

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's outdoor track & field squad won five events at the DeSales University Tri-Meet Saturday with Muhlenberg College.

Moravian Event Winners

  • Graduate student Tim King broke the school and Landmark Conference records and won the discus with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying toss of 46.65 meters (153-0)
  • King captured first in the hammer throw with a PR and AARTFC qualifying distance of 49.78 meters (163-4), the third best throw in program history
  • King also won the shot put with a toss of 14.28 meters (46-10.25)
  • The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of juniors Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro, sophomore Jacob Fenstermaker and freshman Javon McKay won the race in an AARTFC qualifying time of 42.71 seconds
  • McKay captured the 100-meter dash in a PR and AARTFC qualifying time of 10.93 seconds 

Moravian Top 10 Finishers

  • Freshman Anthony Morillo was third in the discus at 39.54 meters while senior Jeremy Goll placed fifth at 35.36 meters (116-0) and senior Derek Mason took ninth at 31.47 meters (103-3)
  • Gray finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.40 seconds while senior Matt Shea was fourth in 53.88 seconds, freshman Damian De Los Santos Suriel placed fifth in 54.41 seconds and sophomore Kevin Hess was seventh in 57.42 seconds
  • Goll was third in the shot put with a distance of 12.49 meters (40-11.75)
  • Sophomore Liam Maguire placed third in the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.15 seconds
  • Fenstermaker took third in the 100-meter dash in 11.23 seconds and he was followed by Sabastro in fourth with a time of 11.41 seconds and junior Jason Gartner in seventh with a PR time of 11.70 seconds
  • Gartner was third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.80 while freshman Mael Tshiyonga was fourth in a PR time of 1:00.94 and Maguire placed fifth in 1:01.31
  • Senior Dan McNicholas was fourth in the hammer throw at 43.27 meters (141-11) while Mason finished with a PR toss of 43.10 meters (141-5)
  • Shea placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.44 seconds while De Los Santos Suriel was sixth in a PR time of 23.90 seconds
  • Junior Geoffrey Kleinberg took fifth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:26.19 while graduate student Christian Jancsarics was seventh in a PR time of 4:29.07, senior Paul Petre placed eighth at 4:32.52, senior Brendon Ward finished ninth in 4:34.11 and freshman Adam Plummer took tenth in a time of 4:36.34
  • Freshman Jackson Royds was eighth in the 800-meter run in 2:09.43 while freshman Jordan Gagner was ninth at 2:12.09
  • The Hounds "B" 4x400-meter relay squad of Jancsarics, sophomore Joe Allegro and freshmen Xander DiMatteo and Gavin Hefferan finished fifth in a time of 4:01.03
