Moravian Men Take Fourth at NCAA DIII Metro Regional; Four Hounds Garner All-Region

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. --- The Moravian University men's cross country squad finished fourth of 25 teams at the 2023 NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships hosted by Rowan University at Dream Park Saturday. 

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored 98 points while Haverford College won the meet with 78 points. Moravian trailed The College of New Jersey by seven points while host Rowan was the runner up with 84 points
  • Junior Nathan Hajel completed the 8,000-meter course in a PR time of 25:05.8 to finish eighth of 177 runners. Hajel earned All-Region honors with a top 35 finish, and he also qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships by finishing in the top seven runners not on a qualifying team
  • Junior Owen Nahf was two spots behind Hajel in tenth with a time of 25:16.9 to earn All-Region accolades
  • Joining the All-Region team were sophomore Bryan Kerchner, who placed 16th in a PR time of 25:26.6 and senior Josh Mangini, who was 21st in a time of 25:38.1
  • Senior Casey Frank finished in 44th at 26:11.3 while freshman Logan Betyeman was 54th in 26:34.2
  • Junior Jake Farrell rounded out the Moravian runners in 84th with a time of 27:31.0
