Women Run to Third Place Showing at Catholic Cardinal Classic

COLMAR MANOR, Md. --- The Moravian College women's cross country squad took third of five squads in the Cardinal Classic hosted by The Catholic University of America at Colmar Manor Community Park Saturday on the course that will be used for the 2019 Landmark Conference Championships in November.

The Blue and Grey scored 77 points as the University of Mary Washington  won the race with 33 points. Senior Carly Danoski had the Hounds top finish as she took eighth of 62 runners with a time of 25:43.3 seconds while junior Natalie Novotni was one spot back in 25:44.8. The Greyhounds had five straight finishers led by senior Ashley Rohrer taking 22nd in 27:14.5. Sophomore Santina Burak was 23rd in a time of 27:14.7 while sophomore Emma Marion was 24th in 27:15.1, sophomore Rachael McCoach took 25th in 27:15.5 and senior Katie Mayer was 26th in a time of 27:21.1. Junior Grace Gilbert also had a top 30 finish by taking 29th in 27:51.4.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Friday, September 20 in the Elizabethtown College Short Course Invitational.
