BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Rising senior pitcher Ian Carbone, junior-to-be center fielder Anthony Gaetaniello and rising sophomore pitcher Dan Morrin from the Moravian College baseball team have been named Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Stars for the Wolff Division with Carbone and Gaetaniello playing for the Lehigh Valley Catz and Morrin on the roster for the Quakertown Blazers.

The 2015 ACBL All-Star game is slated for Thursday, July 23 with first pitch slated for 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Quakertown. The trio along with sophomore-to-be pitchers Bryan Schoch and John Wiedmayer, who had both seen action for the Lehigh Valley Catz this summer, helped the Greyhounds to a 21-20 record and the Landmark Conference Championship series before heading to the wooden bat league for the summer.

Gaetaniello is leading the Catz with a .299 batting average and he leads the entire ACBL with 22 stolen bases in 24 games this summer. Gaetaniello has 23 hits in 77 at-bats to go with 14 runs scored, a double, three triples and five RBIs. He has been walked eight times and added three sacrifices this summer.

"I am very thankful to have to opportunity to play in a league with a reputation as good as the ACBL," commented Gaetaniello. "Playing in the ACBL this summer has allowed me to learn, develop, and improve in many aspects of the game and for that I am thankful. As far as making the all-star team goes, I'm thrilled I will be able share this experience with my teammates, Ian and Dan. But to me, this certainly is, a humbling achievement."

Carbone has seen action in six games for the Catz with four starts and one complete game. He has recorded 23 strikeouts and 11 walks in 23.2 innings to go with a 1-2 record and a 4.64 ERA. Carbone started the summer in the bullpen before moving into the starting rotation for the Catz.

"I am honored and humbled to make the All-Star team," stated Carbone. "The ACBL is a respectable summer league and I am thankful that Coach Engelhardt and Coach McGeary asked me to play this summer. I'm excited to see how we do as a team, Dan, Tony, and I, in the All-Star game and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to represent Moravian baseball at one of the highest levels this summer."

Morrin, who was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in May as well as the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, has been in Quakertown's starting rotation all summer and is among the top ten pitchers in the league. He has started all eight of his appearances with one complete game. Morrin has a 2.10 ERA with a 4-1 record, 27 strikeouts and just nine walks in 42.2 innings of action.

"It is an unbelievable honor to be named to the All-Star team, and it's even better than Ian and Anthony are on it too," explained Morrin. "This summer has been great. Playing in the ACBL has been an awesome experience. I get to pitch against some of the best hitters I've ever faced week after week. \ I treat these games just as if it was a conference weekend for Moravian, and by doing that, I've been lucky enough to have a lot of success. My defense behind me for the Blazers has been very strong, which makes my outings go a lot more smoothly. I can't wait to play in the All-Star game. It means a lot to me that all of my hard work has been paying off."

The trio are part of six Landmark Conference players to earn ACBL All-Star honors with two players from Susquehanna University and one from the University of Scranton earning spots on the Kaiser Division squad.

The group continues a Moravian connection with the Lehigh Valley Catz over the last 10 years. Seniors-to-be pitcher Anthony Zaloga and catcher Mike Roethke each spent a summer with the Catz. Colin Case '15 and Matt Hanson '15 played for the Catz last summer. Brendan Close '12 and Robert Solano '14 were on the Catz' pitching staff in 2011 while Chris Morrison '10 pitched for the Catz for three summers from 2007 through 2009. Josh Baltz '08 started 23 of 28 games he played for the Catz in the summer of 2006. Morrin joins Hanson as Greyhounds' who had played for other teams in the ACBL with Hanson playing his first year in the league with the Trenton Generals.

The Catz and the Blazers are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Monday, July 27 at 5:00 p.m. at Upper Hacketts Park in Easton and a single game on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Quakertown.
