Greyhounds Selected Third in Landmark Conference Preseason Coaches Poll

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College baseball team has been picked to finish third in the Landmark Conference this spring in the 2016 Preseason Poll conducted among the conference's head coaches with the Greyhounds picking up a total of 52 points.

The Catholic University of America, last year's conference champions, was selected first overall receiving five first-place votes and 64 votes overall while The University of Scranton was picked second receiving two first-place votes and only grabbing four more votes than the Blue and Grey.

Tenth-year Moravian Head Coach Paul Engelhardt returns 26 players and 14 starters including four starting pitchers from last year's 21-20 Landmark Conference Runner-Up squad.

"We are looking forward to playing out the schedule and seeing where we are at at the end of the season," commented Coach Engelhardt.

Moravian is slated to kick off its 2015 campaign on Saturday, February 27 at the Hampden-Sydney (Va.) College Classic. The Greyhounds open the tournament against host Hampden-Sydney at 3:00 p.m. and will play York (Pa.) College on Sunday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. as well as playing Hampden-Sydney at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Moravian is scheduled to begin its Landmark Conference slate on Saturday, March 19 when the Hounds face off against Catholic in the doubleheader of a three-game conference series starting at 1:00 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
