Hounds Fall at Scranton in Landmark Conference Action

SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's basketball team traveled to the University of Scranton Wednesday night, falling 84-57 in Landmark Conference action.

Senior guard Izel Dickerson went 3-of-3 at the free throw line, scoring 13 points which gave him his 900th career point to go with two rebounds and three assists. Sophomore forward Brandon McGuire also scored 13 on the night and had two rebounds. Sophomore forward Aaron Brown and freshman guard Matt Cardonne both had six points apiece, a career high for Brown, while sophomore guard Sean Hanna and junior forward Ryan O'Neil both contributed five points.

In the first half, a layup from McGuire would get the Hounds their first two points of the game. Dickerson would put up four points from a layup and a pair of free throws and a three pointer by O'Neil would keep the Blue and Grey within six points with 14:47 left in the first half. Hanna hit a three making it 17-12 in favor of Scranton with 11:10 still in the first half. The Royals went on a run that the Hounds couldn't catch up to sending the teams to halftime with Scranton ahead 45-23.

In the second half, the teams would trade baskets in the first few minutes but the Royals would extend the lead. Despite nine points, six by Brown, with just under a 1:40 left to play the Greyhounds would fall 84-57.

The Greyhounds return home to Johnston Hall on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. for another Landmark Conference game against Juniata College.
