O'Neil Nets Career-High at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Junior forward Ryan O'Neil scored a career-high 12 points in his first collegiate start but it wasn't enough as the Moravian College men's basketball team fell to Susquehanna University in a road Landmark Conference game Saturday afternoon.

O'Neil was 5-for-8 from the floor and had three rebounds while junior guard Jarrod Dilts netted a team-high 13 points for the Greyhounds as he made a trio of three-pointers and added four boards. Senior forward Garrett Kashmer also hit double figures for the Hounds with 10 points.

Sophomore forward Brandon McGuire nearly had his ninth double-double of the season with nine points and nine rebounds in the contest while freshman forward Riley Hengler was a perfect 5-for-5 at the foul line for Moravian. Sophomore guard Isaiah Jennings led the Blue and Grey with four assists to go with four points, three board and a pair of steals.

The Greyhounds, who shot just 31 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes, were down 8-5 after Dilts' first three-pointer of the game. Jennings hit a free throw at 10:46 as Moravian trailed 19-12 before 30-9 run by Susquehanna opened a large lead that the Crusaders held into halftime, 53-26.

The Hounds shot the ball better in the second half, making 14-of-30 field goal attempts (46.7 percent) but Moravian was unable to cut into Susquehanna's advantage.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Wednesday, February 11 when the squad welcomes Drew University to Johnston Hall for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
