Yaskowski, Hounds Blank Rosemont for Second Straight Shutout to Start 2017

SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer squad recorded its second straight shutout to open the 2017 season as the Greyhounds blanked Rosemont College, 3-0, Saturday on the second day of the 19th Annual Garnet Alumni Classic being hosted by Swarthmore College.

Senior goalie Bryan Yaskowski and sophomore keeper Matthew Miller combined on the clean sheet with Yaskowski making three saves in 82 minutes of action while Miller played the final eight minutes of the match.

The Greyhounds, who had a 12-6 edge in shots, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute when senior midfielder Brett Lubben found the back of the net as he tapped in a through ball from junior defender Michael Guarino. The goal was the fourth of Lubben's career.

Moravian added two goals in a span of 2:01 late in the second half as freshman forward Thiago Queiroz and sophomore midfielder Dylan Evande each netted their first collegiate goals with Querioz scoring in the 75th minute and Evande finding the net in the 77th minute.

The Hounds are schedule to play their first home match of 2017 on Wednesday, September 6 when the squad welcomes Centenary (N.J.) University to John Makuvek Field for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
