Lady Greyhounds Top NCAA Statistics in Blocks Per Game

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Moravian College women's basketball team is ranked first in NCAA Division III in blocks per game. They are averaging 7.5 blocks per game, and have blocked a total of 180 shots this season.

There are three Greyhound basketball players that are ranked in the NCAA Division III statistics as well. Senior forward Alexandra Blair is ninth in the nation with 3.5 blocks per game. She is 97th with 9.1 rebounds per game. Blair is also tied for third with one triple-double and tied for 65th with nine double-doubles this season.

On the season, Blair is averaging 13.3 points per game to go with her 83 blocks, 49 assists and 22 steals. She holds the best field goal percentage on the squat at .461 (130-for-282).

Also ranked in the NCAA statistics this week is senior guard Hilary Murray, who ranks 46th in assists turnover ratio at 1.7 per game. Murray has 78 assists and only 46 turnovers in 544 minutes of play this season. She is also averaging 5.7 points per game to go with her 39 steals, and team-best .788 (52-for-66) free throw percentage.

Freshman forward Alexis Wright is 80th in the country with 1.8 blocks per game. On the season, Wright is second on the team in points per game (11.1), rebounds per contest (8.0) and blocks (43). She also has 38 steals and 20 assists on the year.

Moravian returns to action this Saturday, February 18th when they host Landmark Conference rival The University of Scranton. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and is senior day and the first ever Teddy Bear Toss for the Greyhounds.
