Women's Basketball 2014-15 Scheduele Opens at Muhlenberg College

Bethlehem, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team is looking to build upon last year's second place Landmark finish and NCAA berth, under the direction of Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. Spirk who captured her 500th win last season, and is entering her 28th season is looking for the team's 14th straight post-season berth.

The Greyhounds are set to travel to rival Muhlenberg College on November 15, for their 2014-15 opening game with a 7:00 p.m. start time. They will be looking to open with a win to steal the Matte Award points and help keep the trophy on Moravian soil.

The Hounds home opener will be on November 18, against non-conference opponent The College of New Jersey with a 7:00 p.m. tip off. They will participate in the Hartwick Tournament on November 22nd and 23rd in Oneonta, N.Y, facing off against host Hartwick on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and SUNY- Oneonta at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Greyhounds return home to face DeSales University on November 25 and Montclair State University on December 1 before opening up conference play.

The Blue and Grey have their Landmark Conference debut at home in Johnston Hall at 7:00 p.m. on December 3 as they host Goucher College. On Saturday, January 3 the team requests the presence of all past, present and future Greyhounds to join them at 2:00 p.m. on Family Day as they take on Susquehanna University.

On February 14, the Hounds look to continue tradition by holding their annual Alumni Game at noon, followed by a 2:00 p.m. Landmark contest with Elizabethtown College in the Play 4Kay Game, which helps raise funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

For the past five seasons the Greyhounds program has led the NCAA Division III schools in the Play 4Kay. Last season, they were honored again by being named the NCAA Division III winner by raising $12,573 and in the past six years raising a grand total of $57,933 for research.

The Hounds last regular season home game will be against United States Merchant Marine Academy at 5:30 p.m.in Johnston Hall, they finish up the regular season on the road against Juniata on Feb.21.
