Hounds Begin 2019 Women's Lacrosse Schedule on February 27

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse team is ready to begin its 2019 schedule on Wednesday, February 27 with a non-conference match versus King's College on John Makuvek Field.

Fourth-year Head Coach Kristen Nicholson has 18 players returning from last season's team that posted an 11-5 record and played in the Landmark Conference Semifinals for the first time in program history.

Nicholson brings back her top seven scorers from last season including senior attack Jillian Picciuto, who had 49 goals and 32 assists for 81 points to go with 75 draw controls, 21 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Picciuto enters her final season with school records of 181 goals, 105 assists, 206 points and 215 draw controls. Junior attack Liz Bill is back after leading the squad with 73 goals and 91 points to go with 33 ground balls, 23 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls while being named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team. Sophomore midfielder Meaghan McMullan was member of the All-Conference Second Team after posting 47 goals, six assists, 53 points, 95 draw controls, 32 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers in her debut season.

Sophomore attack Danielle Sullivan had 20 goals, 16 assists and 11 ground balls a year ago while sophomore defender Olivia Clearie added 19 goals, two assists, 29 ground balls, 25 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers. Junior midfielder Allie Fisher contributed 14 goals, three assists, 47 ground balls, 41 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers for the Blue and Grey last season while sophomore attack Breanna Federico had six goals and 10 assists. Senior attack Jessica Pisano netted seven goals while senior attack Dalia Aguilar had three goals and two assists.

Junior defender Allie Brembt contributed two goals and 16 ground balls last year while senior defender Kristen Baxter had a goal and 10 ground balls. Senior defender Melissa Webber recorded 26 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers as she returned from injury last spring while freshman defender Maecy Chlebowski had 15 ground balls and senior defender Jacqueline LaCava scooped up five ground balls. Sophomore defender Gabi Brandon and senior attack Kyleigh Miller both add depth for Moravian.

The Greyhounds return two goalies this spring in senior Kelley Gavin and sophomore Courtney Heist. Gavin posted an 11.25 goals-against average, 96 saves and 23 ground balls in 736 minutes of action while Heist recorded a 7.91 goals-against average and five saves in 137 minutes of play.

Coach Nicholson has added seven new players to the roster as Moravian looks to challenge for a return to the Landmark Conference Tournament.
