Greyhounds Head to Scranton for Landmark Conference Semifinals on May 1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse team has earned the third seed in the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament, and the Greyhounds will travel to second seed and No. 18 The University of Scranton for a Semifinal match on Wednesday, May 2 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Weiss Field in Scranton.

Moravian, which is 12-5 overall and completed the Landmark Conference regular season with a 5-2 slate, fell to the Royals, 21-16, at Weiss Field this past Saturday when the squads met to end the regular season. The Greyhounds, who have a school record for wins this spring, are heading to the Landmark Conference Tournament for the second time in program history and the postseason for just the third time after making the ECAC Division III Tournament in 2017.

Sophomore midfielder Meaghan McMullan is one of two Greyhounds with 98 points, and she has 70 goals and 28 assists to go with 48 draw controls, 28 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers while senior attack Jillian Picciuto has 98 points on 53 goals and 45 assists to go with 66 draw controls, 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. Junior attack Liz Bill has scored 96 points on a school record 84 goals and 12 assists to go with 33 ground balls, 102 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers while freshman midfielder Lindsey Strohl has added 42 goals, five assists, 89 draw controls, 32 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.

Sophomore attack Danielle Sullivan has 28 goals, 13 assists and 11 ground balls while senior attack Dalia Aguilar has netted 13 goals to go with two assists and 16 ground balls. Freshman attack Kelsey Moore has contributed six goals, an assist and 11 ground balls while sophomore attack Breanna Federico has scored four goals and an assist. Freshman attack Eliza Fantazzi has netted four goals while senior attack Kyleigh Miller has three goals and two assists. Sophomore defender Olivia Clearie and junior midfielder Allie Fisher each have one goal and one assist with Clearie adding 47 draw controls, 46 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers, and Jessica Pisano has one goal.

Senior goalie Kelley Gavin has a 14.98 goals-against average, 126 saves, 19 ground balls and an 8-4 mark in 677 minutes while sophomore goalie Courtney Heist has an 11.80 goals-against average, 48 saves and a 4-1 record in 346 minutes. Senior defender Melissa Webber has 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers while freshman midfielder/defender Jamie Bader has 16 ground balls. Freshmen defenders Samantha Cherenson and freshman defender Meghan Moore have each added 14 ground balls while junior defender Allie Brembt has 11 ground balls and senior defender Kristen Baxter has scooped up 10 ground balls.

The winner of Wednesday's Semifinal will advance to the 2019 Landmark Conference Championship game to face the winner of the other match Wednesday between top seed and No. 10 The Catholic University of America and fourth seed Drew University. The championship contest is slated for Saturday, May 4 with the winner of that match receiving an automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
