Hounds Move to 3-1 in Landmark Conference Action with Win at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse team won its second straight Landmark Conference contest with a 22-12 victory at Elizabethtown College Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, now 8-4 overall and 3-1 in Landmark Conference action, had seven goal scorers in the contest led by junior attack Liz Bill, who had six goals to go with 10 draw controls. Sophomore midfielder Meaghan McMullan contributed four goals, an assist and three ground balls while senior attack Jillian Picciuto had three goals, three assists and four draw controls. Senior attack Dalia Aguilar netted a hat trick with six ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers while freshman midfielder Lindsey Strohl and sophomore attack Danielle Sullivan each had two goals and an assist with Strohl adding seven draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers while Sullivan scooped up four ground balls. Freshman attack Kelsey Moore added two goals.

 Senior goalie Kelley Gavin made 10 saves and contributed two ground balls in the contest while sophomore defender Olivia Clearie had four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Freshman defender Meghan Moore scooped up three ground balls while junior defender Allie Brembt had four caused turnovers.

The Blue and Grey jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a goal by Picciuto and two tallies from Bill in the first six minutes of action. Moravian had a 5-1 lead after McMullan's first goal, and the edge was 8-2 after McMullan scored again. Kelsey Moore and Aguilar each scored in the final 23 seconds of the half as the Greyhounds headed to the intermission with a 14-5 lead.

Sullivan and McMullan netted goals to push the Hounds' advantage to 16-5 with just over 20 minutes remaining before the Blue Jays scored six straight goals to pull within 16-11 with 9:54 to play. Bill stopped the run with her team-leading 60th goal of the season, and the Greyhounds would net the final five goals of the contest to seal the win.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 13 in a Landmark Conference match at Juniata College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
