Women's Soccer Falls at Arcadia in Season Opener

GLENSIDE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team battled Arcadia University in non-conference action in the squad's 2015 season opener before falling 4-0 on the road Tuesday afternoon.

The Knight's took an early 1-0 lead but the Greyhounds had a chance to tie the contest in the 36th minute. Junior forward Valentina Margiottiello drilled a shot that was blocked after a Moravian corner kick and junior defender Christine Miklas'  follow up shot was saved to keep the Hounds off of the scoreboard.

Moravian put a pair of shots on goal in the second half with senior midfielder Taylor Blake forcing the Arcadia keeper to make a save in the 75th minute and freshman forward Gabby Stelzmiller putting her first collegiate shot on goal in the 79th minute.

Senior goalie Jacqueline Zalis posted five saves in goal for the Hounds.

The Greyhounds will continue their three-match season-opening road trip on Saturday, September 5 in a non-conference match at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts beginning at 11:00 a.m.
