Hounds Duo Earns All-Conference Honors

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior defender Christine Miklas and sophomore defender Lauren Bertucci were selected to the 2015 Landmark All-Conference Women's Soccer Second Team.

Bertucci played in 15 matches this season for the Greyhounds. She tallied two goals this fall, one of them being a game winner, and eight shots. This is her second year making the Landmark Conference All-Conference Second Team.

"Lauren had another great season. Back-to-back All-Conference selections is very hard to do and it goes to show you how hard she works. She scored two very important goals for us as and we look forward to great things from her in her next two seasons," commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk.

Miklas started in all 17 matches for the Hounds and took 13 shots over the course of the season. Her freshman year she was named to the Landmark Conference All-Conference First Team

"Christine was our rock. She is a First Team selection in my opinion and I'm sure every member of the coaching staff and team would agree. She is by far the best player in the air I have ever coached and if she continues to train hard like she did last offseason, she will be in for a monster senior year. Without her strong play in the back we would not have been in the playoffs," noted Ykoruk.

Both ladies helped the team post a 4-10-3 record, while playing the second hardest strength of schedule in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and having played seven of 16 games against regionally or nationally ranked teams. Bertucci and Miklas helped the Blue and Grey post five shutouts on the season and helped the team post a 1.47 goals against average.

The team also posted a 2-4-2 record in the Landmark Conference and made the Landmark playoffs as the fourth seed.
