BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's lacrosse team scored five of the final seven goals to snap a 10-10 tie and record a 15-12 victory over Albright College on a rainy John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening as the Greyhounds earned their first win of the 2024 season.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds opened the scoring just over four minutes into the contest as graduate student attack Connor James netted an unassisted goal. Sophomore attack Ryan Kokoszka made it 2-0 just 40 seconds later off a pass from junior attack Dan Kelly. The Lions scored next before senior attack Trevor Dzama found the net off a pass from junior midfielder Vincent Devito. Albright scored again but the Blue & Grey would lead 4-2 after 15 minutes of action as Kelly put a feed from Dzama in the net late in the period
  • The Lions began the second quarter with two goals to knot the contest at 4-4. Dzama restored Moravian's two-goal edge with a pair of goals in just under a minute. However, Albright scored twice to end the half including a goal with 17 seconds on the clock to send the teams to the intermission tied at 6-6
  • Junior midfielder Aaron Judge had the Blue & Grey back on top just a minute and a half into the second half on a pass from Kokoszka, and senior attack Brennan Fluehr made it 8-6 when he found the goal off a Dzama pass. The Lions tallied a goal before Judge scored again. Albright netted two more tallies including one with ten seconds left to knot the score at 9-9. The Greyhounds had enough time on the clock as James beat the buzzer off a pass from Devito to put Moravian up 10-9 after 45 minutes of action. The goal for James was the 134th of his career, passing Mark Laratta '19 and the previous record of 133 goals
  • Albright quickly tied the match for a fourth time less than two minutes into the fourth quarter. Judge gave the Hounds the lead for good at the 8:15 mark with a man-up goal on a pass from Dzama. Dzama netted a pair of goals to make the Blue & Grey lead 13-10 before the Lions cut the edge to a goal at 13-12 with 4:14 remaining. Kokoszka tallied a man-up goal and James sealed the victory with another marker at the 2:22 to finish the scoring
