Greyhounds Suffer 1-0 Overtime Setback to Neumann in Non-Conference Action

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 overtime loss at the hands of Neumann University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds and Knights exchanged nine shots between the squads, with Moravian taking five and Neumann attempting four shots. They would head into halftime in a scoreless draw
  • The Blue and Grey would fire off 13 shots in the second half with four of them going on goal while Neumann took six shots and two of them required saves by the goalkeeper.  Still scoreless, the teams would need extra time to finish the game
  • After a foul just outside the 18-yard box gave Neumann a free kick, they scored a goal to take down the Greyhounds, 1-0 in the 98th minute.

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian attempted 19 shots in the contest, outshooting the Knights who had 14 shots. The Blue and Grey earned five corner kicks to Neumann's two
  • Graduate student goalie Michael Bone got his third start of the season in net and led the Greyhounds defensively with six saves in 98 minutes of action
