BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and would end up posting an 8-0 victory over visiting Gwynedd Mercy University in non-conference action Tuesday evening on John Makuvek Field as six different Greyhounds found the net.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute as senior midfielder Safa Turkdonmez netted what would be the game-winning goal on a penalty kick
  • The Blue and Grey extended the lead to 2-0 in the 30th minute when freshman forward Ben Scary headed in a corner kick from sophomore defender Alex Daniele. The score remained at 2-0 until after the intermission
  • Moravian stretched the advantage to 3-0 in the 56th minute as senior forward Anthony Nagy drilled a shot from outside the 18-yard box off the goalie's hands into the net off of a feed from sophomore forward Reed Sturza
  • Nagy would set up the next Hounds' goal as his pass led to junior midfielder Dave Steinbach finding the goal with a header in the 56th minute
  • Senior midfielder Alec Aloia pushed the lead to 5-0 with an unassisted marker in the 61st minute
  • Sophomore midfielder Daniel Babbert scored twice in a three-minute window with goals in the 71st and 74th minutes
  • Moravian's final goal of the night ended up being an own goal as a crossing pass was directed into the net by a Gwynedd Mercy defender
