Moravian Men Take Fourth at Cardinal Classic

COLMAR MANOR, Md. --- The Moravian College men's squad finished fourth of seven teams in the Cardinal Classic hosted by The Catholic University of America at Colmar Manor Community Park Saturday on the course that will be used for the 2019 Landmark Conference Championships in November.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 75 points, just 24 points behind winner the University of Mary Washington. Senior Justin Beasley-Turner paced the Hounds with a time of 28:08.1 to finish seventh of 78 runners on the 8,000-meter course. Senior Gregory Jaindl was one spot back in eighth with a time of 28:08.4 while freshman Darlyn Fermin took 15th in 28:51.3 in his first 8K race. Rounding out Moravian's scoring five were senior Gavin Kemery in 22nd place with a time of 29:11.6 while sophomore Shane Houghton was one spot back in 29:11.9. Sophomore Dominic DeRafelo also had a top 30 finish as he took 26th in 29:22.5.

The Hounds are slated to return to action on Friday, September 20 in the Elizabethtown College Short Course Invitational.
