Jaindl Takes 4th; Men Finish 9th in 2019 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's cross country team placed ninth of 51 schools at the 2019 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by Muhlenberg College on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University Saturday.

The Hounds scored 318 points while Carnegie Mellon University won the race with 55 points. Senior Gregory Jaindl led the Greyhounds with a fourth place finish of 360 runners in a time of 24:48.8 on the 8,000-meter course to earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors. Jaindl will likely run in the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championships on November 23 when the field is officially announced on Sunday. The national championship race will be hosted by Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.

Freshman Darlyn Fermin finished 60th with a time of 26:17.7 while senior Gavin Kemery was 67th in 26:27.2. Rounding out the Greyhounds' runners were sophomore Dominic DeRafelo in 70th place in 26:25.8, sophomore Shane Houghton at 117th in a time of 27:05.0, sophomore Michael Lerch in 134th at 27:15.7 and senior Justin Beasley-Turner at 191st in 28:17.1.
