Moravian Men Win Stockton Osprey Open

GALLOWAY, N.J. --- The Moravian University men's cross country squad finished first of 20 teams to win the Stockton University Osprey Open Saturday on the course that will be used for the NCAA Division III Metro Regional in November.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored 34 points with the top five runners all finishing in the top 15
  • The Blue & Grey were 42 points ahead of runner-up NCAA Division I Seton Hall University and 51 points in front of The College of New Jersey
  • Graduate student Cole Stanchina placed third of the 189 runners in the meet with a time of 25:11.50 on the 8,000-meter course
  • Senior Nathan Hajel finished fifth in 25:14.41 while junior Bryan Kerchner took seventh at 25:20.92
  • Rounding out the top five for Moravian were senior Owen Nahf in tenth place in a time of 25:38.40 and graduate student Josh Mangini in 13th at 25:54.58
  • Sophomore Nate Moore took 17th overall in a time of 26:03.18 while sophomore Gavin Hefferan finished 22nd in 26:14.64
  • The Hounds' other runners in the championship race were senior Jake Farrell, who was 47th in 27:20.76, freshman Riley Trigo, who placed 52nd in a time of 27:24.51 and senior Geoffrey Kleinberg, who took 60th in 27:33.31
